BJP’s Mahila Morcha’s National President and former Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan told reporters here that Union Govt is keen to give approval to Coimbatore and Madurai Metro Train Projects.
Speaking to news reporters here at the side-lines of an event, Vanathi said that the previous Tamil Nadu Government produced a DPR for metro projects with several issues and the present government too submitted the same report to the centre, hence it has received the same reply.
Vanathi recommended the current government to review the DPR for both the Coimbatore and Madurai Metro Projects, involve stakeholders of the 2 cities, get their feedback, prepare a fresh DPR, attach all the relevant documents the Metro Rail Policy requires, and submit it to the centre.
She underlined that the central government is keen to provide the approvals and funding to the Coimbatore & Madurai Metro Rail Projects.
