Amrita Vidyalayam, Ettimadai, hosted its two-day Annual Day Celebrations, recently.
The event brings together over 2,500 parents, students, and dignitaries for a celebration of excellence, wisdom, and culture.
The festivities commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Swamini Muktamṛta Praṇa, Manager, Amrita Vidyalayam; Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi, Section Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram; Parameswaran, Principal Director, CIR, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Nedumaran, Principal.
The event began with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Vikas, the Head Boy (Secondary).
In her Presidential Address, Swamini Muktamṛta Praṇa narrated a meaningful story by Amma, blending it with insights from Sri Sankaracarya’s Vivekacuḍamaṇi, and emphasizing the importance of self-realization and wisdom as guiding principles in life.
Nedumaran presented the Annual Report, showcasing the school’s notable achievements over the past year in academics, co-curricular activities, and student initiatives.
The Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi, delivered a thought-provoking address on the importance of discipline, gratitude, and clear life goals.
He urged students to avoid harmful influences such as drugs and embrace virtues that build strong character. In an interactive session, he engaged the audience with discussions on leadership and life lessons, leaving them with a resonant message: “When the mind is silent, God works through us.”
The Guest of Honour, Parameswaran, announced an exciting initiative: 5% of seats at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will be reserved for Amrita Vidyalayam students, inspiring them to excel academically.
He also highlighted the contributions of Tamil and Sanskrit, the world’s oldest languages, and their relevance in modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
A video on knowledge representation in Sanskrit further inspired the audience to embrace innovation while staying rooted in cultural heritage.
The event recognized the outstanding achievements of 45 students in academics and co-curricular activities during the prize distribution ceremony, applauding their dedication and excellence.
The cultural performances were a highlight of the celebrations, with 13 captivating presentations themed “Bharata Mahima”, showcasing the students’ creativity and pride in India’s heritage.
From vibrant dances to inspiring skits and musical renditions, the performances reflected the school’s emphasis on blending tradition with modernity.
