PSG Sports Club announced the 60th All India Basketball Tournament (Men) and the 1st All India Basketball Tournament (Women) for the PSG Trophy, on Monday at PSG College of Technology.
Rudramoorthy, President and Palanisamy, Secretary, PSG Sports Club made the announcement. The highly anticipated tournament will take place from August 26th to 30th, and will see 7+ men’s team and 4 women’s team compete for the prestigious PSG Trophy that will take place at the PSG Tech Indoor Sports Complex.
The league matches for men is set to be held from 26th to 28th, while it will begin on 28th and end on 30th for women. The semi finals will be on Aug 29th, and the finals is on Aug 30th.
The Defending Champions, Indian Bank – Tamil Nadu is competing in the tournament.
The total cash prize is Rs. 4.35 lakh. In addition to this, Rs.6 lakh has been set aside to recognise deserving former players and PSG students.
“18 students and 50 former accomplished players will be honored on Aug 29th,”Palanisamy said.
Gayathri, Regional Manager – R1, SBI will inaugurate the tournament while Tamil Nadu Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna will be the Chief Guest of the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
It is important to state that the event is recognised by Basketball Federation of India (BFI), and the matches will be streamed live on YouTube.
