Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Vinoth recently visited Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, and inspected various departments and research stations.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Subrahmaniyan welcomed the Minister. The visit commenced with a discussion involving the Minister, university officials, and faculty members.

The Minister then inspected the university’s Paddy Breeding Station and reviewed the paddy varieties on display, along with details of their cultivation practices. He subsequently visited the university orchard for an on-site inspection.

Later, he inspected the student hostels and dining halls. During his interaction with students, he enquired about the facilities and received feedback on their strengths and areas requiring improvement.

The Minister also visited the Central Farm, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Agri Business Centre, Botanical Garden, Nanotechnology Facility, Coxbit, and the Entomology Insect Museum.

The visit concluded with an interactive session with students at Anna Auditorium, where the Minister delivered a special address highlighting the importance and relevance of agriculture.
