The Department of Social Work and Commerce B&I at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, organised a Community Extension Activity emphasizing the importance of the topic “DRIVE SAFE: PROTECT SMART” at Karumathampatti Junction recently.
The program was organized for the benefit of the vehicle-driving community to address the importance of following traffic rules and the benefits of insuring the vehicle. Students portrayed drama acts, and awareness speeches prioritizing wearing helmets & seat belts, avoiding drink & driving and over speeding.
Shanmugavelu, Inspector of Police, Karumathampatti and Radhakrishnan, Sub-Inspector of Police embraced the event with their presence. They addressed the crowd about the significance of following traffic rules for a safe and happy journey.
Simultaneously sweets were distributed to the public wearing helmets and wished them a safe ride by distributing awareness pamphlets. Common people and students undertook oath pledging safe ride by following traffic rules. The efforts of the students have received widespread appreciation, inspiring a safer road journey for everyone.
The public has actively listened and appreciated the students for their efforts. The faculties and students thanked the Police officials for their support and encouragement in the successful execution of the program.
