KCCS, an Indo-Japan bridge organisation, in association with H2 Innovation, Japan, is facilitating a series of initiatives to promote collaboration between Japanese technology companies, Indian industries and educational institutions in the emerging fields of green hydrogen, renewable energy and decarbonisation.
As part of the initiative, Yosuke Mori, Representative Director of H2 Innovation, Japan, visited Tamil Nadu recently to engage with government representatives, academic institutions and industries on opportunities for technology collaboration, knowledge exchange and joint initiatives in the green energy sector.
The programme includes a presentation on “Renewable Energy – Green Hydrogen” and the signing of MoUs with leading educational institutions and industry partners.
The proposed collaboration will focus on the potential of green hydrogen as a clean energy carrier, with discussions centred on hydrogen production using renewable energy and the application of hydrogen technologies for future mobility and other sectors.
The initiative also seeks to explore the potential of water-based hydrogen production and renewable-energy-powered electrolysis as part of the transition towards a low-carbon energy ecosystem.
“Water is the fuel for the future” is one of the central ideas driving the discussions, with the long-term potential of seawater as a resource for hydrogen production also being explored.
The visit and discussions were coordinated by Karunanidhi Kasinathan, Founder Chairman, K-KCCS.
As part of the industry-academia initiative, MoUs will be signed with Anna University, Chennai; Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai; JKK Muniraja Group of Institutions, Gobichettipalayam; Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology, Coimbatore; Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem; San Precision Alloys, Coimbatore; Sri Sastha Engineering College, Coimbatore; PSNA College of Engineering, Dindigul; and Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul, a press release from KCCS said.
The programme will create a platform for industry-academia knowledge exchange, technology partnerships, research and development, skill development and future collaboration in green hydrogen and renewable energy.
