As per the directions of the Government of Tamil Nadu under the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu initiative, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Dr. NGP Institute of Technology, in association with the Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross, organised anti-drug awareness activities on Tuesday.
Students actively participated in the programme, watched the live session of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and collectively took the Anti-Drug Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to creating a healthy and drug-free society.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the physical and social consequences of drug abuse and encourage them to make responsible and healthy choices.
Thiruvasagam, Sub-Inspector of Police, E2 Peelamedu Police Station, along with his team, visited the programme and delivered a motivational speech to the students. He highlighted the harmful effects and consequences of drug abuse and urged students to stay away from drugs.
The activities included a Poster-Making Competition, Logo/Tagline Design Competition and Quiz Competition. The creative competitions provided students with an opportunity to convey anti-drug messages through innovative ideas and artistic expression.
A large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students actively participated in the various activities. Their enthusiastic participation demonstrated their commitment to creating a drug-free campus and society.
The initiative encouraged students to become ambassadors of the message, “Say No to Drugs.”
