As part of its commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive communities, Titan Paints Private Limited (Adwaith Lakshmi Group), successfully inaugurated a multi-dimensional project that addresses the water-related problems faced by a tribal community in Gettaikadu Village in Nellithurai Panchayat of Karamadai Block, Coimbatore.

Nestled within a reserved forest, Gettaikadu is home to a tribal community that has long faced challenges in accessing reliable water for both domestic use and agriculture. Addressing this critical need, the project introduced a solar-powered water pumping system that lifts water from a nearby river, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly water supply for the village.

With the successful implementation of the project, villagers are no longer required to walk several kilometres every day to fetch water. They now have access to a reliable source of safe drinking water within their village, significantly improving their quality of life and reducing the time and effort previously spent collecting water.

The project was formally inaugurated by Ravi Sam, Managing Director, Adwaith Lakshmi Group, and Tushar Singh, IAS, Assistant Collector, Coimbatore District, in the presence of government officials, community representatives, NGO partners, and local residents.

The initiative also supports irrigation across 19 acres of agricultural land, enabling year-round cultivation and strengthening rural livelihoods. By promoting intercropping practices, the project has enhanced agricultural productivity while creating sustainable income opportunities.

Recognizing the importance of conserving the surrounding ecosystem, the project included the development of a dedicated wildlife drinking water pond, ensuring that wild animals have access to water, particularly during dry seasons. The project is financially backed by Titan Paints and is implemented by Native Medicare Charitable Trust.
