VIT University has achieved a notable milestone by securing the 597th position in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2027.

The global higher education analysis firm, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, released the latest edition of its World University Rankings, evaluating more than 1,500 institutions worldwide across five key parameters: Research and Discovery, Learning Experience, Employability, International Engagement, and Sustainability.

This year, VIT has demonstrated strong progress, advancing 94 positions from its previous ranking of 691 in 2026.

Commenting on the achievement, VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan said, “In an intensely competitive global environment, VIT University’s significant improvement in the QS World University Rankings is a matter of great pride”.

He added, “The university also excelled in the Sustainability category, securing the 352nd position worldwide and 7th place in India in the 2026 rankings. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Engineering and Technology, VIT is ranked 119th globally, and 6th rank among Indian institutions. Through innovation in teaching and groundbreaking advancements in research, VIT aims to break into the top 200 universities worldwide.”
