Addressing the media, CA Survajith Krishnan, Chairman, ICAI Coimbatore Branch, said the Chartered Accountancy profession today offers vast opportunities not only in accounting and auditing, but also in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Global Taxation, Financial Consulting, Insolvency, Sustainability Reporting and Start-up Advisory Services.

“The profession has evolved tremendously over the years. Chartered Accountants today are not confined to finance and auditing alone, but also play key roles as business advisors, entrepreneurs, strategists and decision-makers across industries,” he said.

He further stated that students who complete Class XII can directly pursue the CA course and build a highly respected career with global opportunities.

“The CA course develops analytical thinking, discipline, communication skills, leadership qualities and professional ethics. It is one of the most respected professions in the country and provides opportunities in practice, industry, banking, consulting and entrepreneurship,” he added.

CA Survajith Krishnan said the ICAI Coimbatore Branch has been actively conducting career awareness programmes, counselling sessions, mentorship initiatives and interactive guidance programmes for students and parents on opportunities in the Chartered Accountancy profession.

“In recent years, we have witnessed increasing awareness and enthusiasm among students towards the CA profession. The Coimbatore CA fraternity has been continuously supporting students through orientation programmes, counselling initiatives and professional development activities,” he said.

He also noted that the branch has been organising seminars, certificate courses and knowledge-sharing sessions for members and students on emerging professional developments, including the New Income Tax Act, 2025, Artificial Intelligence, GST, Corporate Laws and other contemporary areas impacting the profession.

He further announced that the ICAI Convocation 2026 will be held at 21 centres across the country and that Coimbatore has been selected as one of the centres to host the convocation on May 23, 2026.

“This is a proud and landmark moment for the Chartered Accountancy fraternity in Coimbatore. Being chosen as one of the convocation centres at the national level reflects the growth, strength and contribution of our members and students to the profession,” he said.

CA Ramaswamy, Past President of ICAI at the All India level, will lead the convocation in Coimbatore along with CA Rajesh, Regional Council Member, SIRC of ICAI, and other dignitaries from the profession.

The convocation will formally confer Certificates of Membership and Certificates of Practice on newly qualified Chartered Accountants and celebrate their achievements as they enter the profession.

The Chairman said the ICAI Coimbatore Branch would continue to intensify its outreach programmes across schools and colleges in Coimbatore and nearby districts to create awareness about the CA profession and guide students towards meaningful career opportunities.

“Chartered Accountancy is not merely a course but a profession that builds leaders with integrity, vision and excellence. We invite students to explore the immense opportunities available in this profession and become part of a globally respected fraternity,” he added.
