Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) recently organised a one-day training on “Corporate Culture” for its second-year MBA students on August 8, 2025.

The event was part of the institution’s Placement Training Programme, designed to provide students with valuable insights and practical knowledge on various aspects of corporate culture.

Valarmathi, Director – VIMS, delivered the presidential address, welcoming the students and emphasising the significance of understanding corporate culture in today’s competitive business world.

She highlighted the importance of developing essential skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry.

The resource person for the event was Gayathiri Sivalingam, Founder of Aspire AIIMS, who presented on the importance and scope of corporate culture. She discussed the skill sets required for the current generation and the availability of certification courses to enhance their skills.

She emphasised the need for students to set clear goals, including vision and mission, and work towards achieving them.

The event featured a brainstorming session on various business scenarios. Students participated enthusiastically in the event, pitching their ideas and showcasing their innovative thinking.

Gayathiri also engaged the students in role-play activities, which helped them develop their teamwork and communication skills. The session concluded with a case study that tested the students’ decision-making skills, providing them with a valuable learning experience.

The Director honoured Gayathiri Sivalingam with a memento, expressing gratitude for her valuable contribution to the event. The one-day event on corporate culture was a resounding success, providing students with a deeper understanding of the industry and the skills required to succeed in it.
