AI will Lead the Future
-Ashish Ranjan, Chief Digital Officer, National Engineering Industries, CKA Birla Group
Chief Guest Ashish Ranjan, in his address, categorised the relevant skill sets required for present-day engineers in the age of AI into two groups: ‘technical skills related to AI’ and ‘human-centric skills that complement AI’s capabilities’.
He further mentioned that key technical skills include machine learning, data science, and programming languages, while essential human-centric skills encompass critical thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and creativity.
He stressed that although still in its early stages, AI and Generative AI are rapidly accelerating innovation, empowering individuals to enhance their skills and improve efficiency.
“Content creators, including writers, advertisers, artists, and musicians, have likely experimented with GenAI,” he stated.
“These technologies are transforming workforce dynamics, compelling organisations to innovate their operations and engagement strategies,” he added.
He concluded his talk by noting that, amid a turbulent macroeconomic environment and the exponential growth of digital economies, future competition may evolve into ‘AI Nationalism.’
Those with the most powerful and efficient AI algorithms, whether individuals, businesses, or governments, will lead the future.
The Engineering stream includes various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the Departments of Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Production Engineering.
