On World Health Day, Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar, District Collector of Coimbatore, inaugurated the handing over ceremony of 10 upgraded Primary Health Centres (PHCs) completed under the Bosch CSR Initiative, implemented by Native Medicare Charitable Trust. The ceremony took place at The Grant Regent recently.

The project aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and equipping these centres with essential medical facilities to improve service delivery in rural and semi-urban communities. This project is named ‘Aarogya’.

The upgraded PHCs are located in Valparai, Sholayar Nagar, Periyapothu, and Topslip (Anaimalai Block); Negamam (Pollachi North Block); Anaikatti (Periyanaickenpalayam Block); and Karamadai, Sirumugai, Vellinagadu, and Seeliyur (Karamadai Block).

These centres underwent significant improvements, including infrastructure upgrades and the installation of advanced medical equipment, to strengthen primary healthcare services in these regions.

The event witnessed the participation of was attended by Dr. Balusamy, District Health Officer; Naved Narayan, Center Head, Bosch Global Software Technologies, Coimbatore; Shilpa Deodhar, CSR Head, Bosch Global Software Technologies; and Sankaranarayanan, Founder & Managing Trustee of NMCT.

The event also saw the participation of Block Medical Officers, Medical Officers, key stakeholders, and government officials.

The initiative underscores Bosch’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its role in strengthening public healthcare infrastructure. By equipping PHCs with modern medical facilities and improved infrastructure, this project is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare for underserved communities, thereby contributing to better health outcomes in Tamil Nadu.
