Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his speech at the India-Japan Economic Forum on 29th August 2025, emphasised India’s impressive political and economic stability.

“Today, India has political stability, economic stability, transparency in policy, and predictability. Today, India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world. And, very soon, it is going to become the third-largest economy in the world,” Modi stated.

Addressing the forum, PM Modi underlined India’s status as a “talent powerhouse,” signalling the country’s vast human resource potential. He noted that the world is increasingly looking to India for leadership and innovation.

Supporting this claim, he referred to the recent upgrade in India’s economic ranking by S&P Global, which reflects growing international confidence in India’s economic prospects.

The Prime Minister also focused on the deepening economic partnership between India and Japan. He pointed out that Japanese companies have invested over $40 billion in India, a testament to the strong bilateral relationship and growing investor confidence.

Modi highlighted key sectors with immense potential for collaboration, such as technology, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

He passionately emphasised that combining Japan’s advanced technology with India’s abundant talent could drive the technological revolution of this century. This partnership, he suggested, is poised to not only boost economic growth in both countries but also reshape the global technological landscape.

PM Modi’s address underscored the bright future of India-Japan relations and the enormous opportunities that lie ahead for cooperation and shared prosperity.
