The Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon is set to energise the city this Sunday, as thousands of runners come together in support of the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF).

The marathon will be held on December 21, 2025, at Park Gate, Uppilipalayam. Now in its 13th edition, the event is expected to attract over 25,000 participants across various categories.

Ahead of Race Day, the organisers unveiled the official event T-shirt and finisher medals on December 16, 2025.

As part of the run, the Marathon Expo will be held at CODISSIA, Hall E, on December 20, 2025, from 9 am to 5 pm at Park Gate, Uppilipalayam. Registered runners will be able to collect their bibs and T-shirts and visit stalls featuring sports accessories, apparel, and merchandise.

The marathon is being organised by the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation in association with Coimbatore Runners and Show Space Events. The event will be conducted in aid of CCF, a registered charitable trust that provides counselling, care, and support to cancer patients and their families through early detection, screening camps, follow-up care, palliative services, and treatment assistance.

Recognised by the Tamil Nadu Athletic Association, the Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon will feature a 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Run, 5 km Timed Run, 5 km Walk, and a Corporate Relay, in which teams of four will cover a combined distance of 21.1 km.

The course will be fully supported with hydration points, aid stations, medical support, ambulances, route marshals, and timing chips to ensure accurate race results.

Prize money totalling Rs. 3.85 lakh will be awarded in the open categories for men and women. In the Half Marathon, the first three finishers will receive Rs. 60,000, Rs. 35,000, and Rs. 25,000 respectively. The top three finishers in the 10 km Run will receive Rs. 35,000, Rs. 25,000, and Rs. 12,500 respectively.

Noushad, Managing Director of Walkaroo International, said the company was proud to partner once again with the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation for the 13th edition of the marathon. He said the strong registration numbers reflected the city’s unity and commitment to cancer awareness, and added that Walkaroo’s association with the event would continue beyond the marathon through initiatives focused on cancer prevention and early detection.

Dr. Balaji, Managing Trustee of CCF, said the upcoming 13th edition, scheduled for December 21, 2025, would mark another significant milestone for the foundation. He acknowledged the support of government departments and civic authorities in ensuring a safe and well-organised event and invited citizens of Coimbatore to participate, cheer, and support the cause.

Ramesh Ponnuswami, Race Director, Coimbatore Marathon, said the enthusiastic response from runners and volunteers reflected the growing stature of the event. He added that the organising team, with the support of local authorities, was prepared to deliver a world-class race experience and looked forward to Race Day on December 21.
