Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) organised VIMSMART 2K26, South India’s Intercollegiate Management Meet, recently.

The mega event was hosted by Cambista, the Students’ Management Association of VIMS, and witnessed participation from more than 400 students representing 24 colleges across South India.

Valarmathi, Principal and CEO of the college, delivered a presidential address in which she highlighted the core objective of the event, enhancing students’ skills, values, creativity, and innovative thinking.

The inaugural session was graced by Nila Arumugam, Managing Director of Nila Group of Companies, Coimbatore, who was the chief guest. He encouraged students to identify their skill sets, believe in their abilities, and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their work.

He also shared three key habits for achieving goals: Reading books for at least 30 minutes every day, listening to expert talks daily and earning while learning.

The day-long event featured a wide range of vibrant competitions, including Best Manager, Best Management Team, Stock War, IPL Auction, Adzap, Group Dance, Mime, Treasure Hunt, Photography, Corporate Walk, and Business Quiz, providing students with opportunities to demonstrate managerial, creative, and leadership skills.

During the valedictory function, Valarmathi delivered the felicitation address, expressing her happiness over the learning experiences gained through the various events and stating that such programmes would greatly benefit students in their future careers.

The valedictory session was further enriched by addresses from Balaji Easwaramurthy, Director of Torqon Power Drives, who spoke about three essential qualities beyond technology: curiosity, skill, and acceptance of failure.

Navaneeth, Managing Director of Gishnu Gears, delivered the Guest of Honour address, highlighting that business management is effectively learned through experiences such as teamwork, coordination, and leadership demonstrated in these events.

Kamaraj Arts and Science College, Tuticorin, emerged as the overall champion, lifting the prestigious VIMSMART 2K26 trophy. Winners and runners-up were felicitated with medals and cash prizes.
