VGM Hospital and Kovai Athletic Club will jointly organize the 6th edition of Run for Nation Marathon on August 9th.
The announcement of the event was officially made on Saturday by Dr.V.G.Mohan Prasad, Founder, VGM Hospital in the presence of Special Guests, Sri Giri Prasad, MLA – Singanallur and NM Sukumar, MLA- Sulur.
The marathon is held to emphasize the importance of education, sports and health – the pillar of a nation’s progress and also to stress the need for Coimbatore to be a Drug Free Kovai. It is expected that 5000+ participants including athletes, students from educational institutions, private organizations and public will take part in the event set to be held in August 2026.
The occasion also saw the unveiling of the marathon’s official T -Shirts and the distribution of uniforms and footwear to Corporation School Students. Members of Runners Club and sponsors of the marathon also took part in the event. It was announced that Rs. 2 lakh will be set as the total cash prize for the winners and top performing finishers.
Others present in the event include, Dr.Suman, Medical Director; Dr. Madhura Prasad Suman, Director of Endoscopy, VGM Hospital and Srinivasan, Technical Chairman, Coimbatore District Athletic Club.
