Tamil Nadu Electricity Consumers’ Association (TECA) welcomed the presentation of the long-awaited White Paper on the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

“We appreciate the Government’s initiative in bringing greater transparency and clarity regarding the power sector, electricity supply, and consumption patterns in the State,” said Santhosh, President of TECA.

He also expressed satisfaction over the announcement made by the Minister for Electricity that there would be no revision in electricity tariffs at present.

“This decision provides much-needed relief and certainty to industrial, commercial, and domestic consumers, particularly in the prevailing economic environment,” he said.

The association reiterated its commitment to engaging constructively with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure that electricity pricing remains fair, transparent, and reflective of consumer interests.

TECA urged the Government and power utilities to continue their efforts to improve the reliability, efficiency, and quality of power supply while maintaining affordability for consumers.

“We are confident that the various initiatives and reforms being undertaken by the Minister will contribute significantly to the growth and development of the power sector in Tamil Nadu,” Santhosh said.

The association also expressed its willingness to continue dialogue and collaboration on sustainable energy policies and sectoral reforms that would benefit consumers, industry, and all stakeholders across the State.
