Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) welcomed the new batch of students to the institution by organizing a two-day orientation program along with Induction Training Program, recently.
Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust presided over the event.
Soundarrajan, Principal of the College, presented the institution’s major milestones and achievements and introduced the leadership team to the first-year students.
Sujith Kumar, Founder and Managing Trustee, Maatram Foundation took part as the Chief Guest of the first day, and spoke to the students, encouraging them to develop self-confidence, leadership qualities, social concern and a sense of responsibility. The Guest of Honor, Arun, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, and an alumnus of the college belonging to the graduating batch of 2001 also motivated the students.
Suceendran, Head – Academic Alliances Group at TCS participated as the Chief Guest on the second day and spoke about the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies and industrial transformations in today’s rapidly changing technological landscape. Kaminee Lakshminarayanan, R&D Principal Technologist, Product Development, AVEVA Industrial Intelligence Software & Solutions, Hyderabad, who is an alumna of the college belonging to the graduating batch of 2002 also addressed the student.

SREC conveyed on Day 2 that the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Chennai (C-DAC Chennai) has formally empanelled the College for the establishment of a C-DAC Experience Centre on our campus.
“This is a proud moment for our institution, as it opens doors to capacity building advanced training, cutting-edge research collaborations, and technology dissemination in areas of national importance — including Artificial Intellegence(AI), Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and Emerging technologies,” the college said via a press release.
