According to a Southern Railway release, changes have been made to train services in the Salem Division to facilitate track maintenance works on various dates.

Train No. 16607 Kannur–Coimbatore Junction Passenger, running on May 6 and 7, 2026, will be short-terminated at Palakkad Junction. The service will be partially cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Coimbatore Junction.

Train No. 16843 Tiruchchirappalli Junction–Palakkad Town Express, running on May 8, 10, and 12, 2026, will be short-terminated at Irugur. The service will be partially cancelled between Irugur and Palakkad Town. An unreserved special train will be operated from Irugur to Palakkad Town after the work is completed, with the same stoppages.

The same train, running on May 22 and 24, 2026, will be short-terminated at Erode Junction, with partial cancellation between Erode Junction and Palakkad Town. An unreserved special train will be operated from Erode Junction to Palakkad Town with identical stoppages.

Train No. 16608 Coimbatore Junction–Kannur Passenger, running on May 6 and 7, 2026, will originate from Palakkad Junction instead of Coimbatore Junction at its scheduled departure time of 3.10 p.m. The service will be partially cancelled between Coimbatore Junction and Palakkad Junction.

Train No. 16843 Tiruchchirappalli Junction–Palakkad Town Express, running on May 9, 2026, will depart at 2.00 p.m. instead of 1.00 p.m., resulting in a delay of one hour.
