The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Green City, in association with the Rotaract Club of RVS Technical Campus and the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Symphony, recently conducted Project GlowGuard, a road safety initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and visibility of gig workers across Coimbatore.
The initiative focused on food delivery riders, e-commerce delivery agents and courier personnel who frequently travel during late hours.
Reflective safety vests were distributed to riders, along with an awareness session highlighting the importance of wearing helmets, responsible riding and adherence to traffic regulations.
Implemented under DPP Pillar N – Navigating Road Safety & Traffic Mobility, the project aims to promote safer commuting practices among workers who are frequently exposed to road traffic risks.
The initiative also plans to conduct follow-up assessments, replace worn-out safety kits and explore potential collaborations with delivery platforms to ensure a lasting impact.
Through this collaborative effort, the clubs reaffirmed their commitment to community welfare and road safety, promoting a safer environment for gig workers in Coimbatore.
