The 38th National Games of India for 2025 was held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to 31 under the theme of “Green Games.” The event included the participation from 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB).

Among the various competitions held, the martial arts competition of Kalaripavattu took place at the Roshnabad Sports Complex in Haridwar, with over 300 athletes participating.

In the Urumi Veesal (whip-wielding) competition, which was conducted in four stages with ten subcategories, athletes from 19 states participated.

The Tamil Nadu Olympic Association selected 11 competitors for the event. Among them, Sruthi, a second-year student from the Department of Psychology at Rathinam College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, participated for the first time in the under-18 category and won the bronze medal.

Rekha Arya, Uttarakhand’s Minister of Sports, presented the bronze medal and was honoured for her achievement. Sruthi secured third place in her first competition, which brought great pride to Rathinam College of Arts and Science.
