The Department of English at Rathinam College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, successfully organised the Indian Philosopher Day Lecture Series titled “Philosophy for the Future: Ancient Wisdom in Modern Times” with the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) on 15th July 2025.
Saradha, Head, Department of English, delivered the welcome address. Balasubramanian, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the significance of philosophical inquiry in today’s world.
This was followed by the Inaugural Address by Suresh, Vice Principal & Director of IQAC, emphasising the role of ancient wisdom in addressing modern challenges. Sabareesh, Dean – Research & Development, offered felicitations, appreciating the efforts of the organizing team and resource persons.
The lecture series brought together distinguished speakers, including Prabha, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, KG College of Arts and Science, who shared perspectives on Indian Philosophy.
Subramanian, Assistant Professor of English, Chikkaiah Government Arts and Science College, who spoke on Indian Ethical Traditions: Guiding Principles for Today.
Neelakandan, Associate Professor of English, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, addressed the topic Living Dharma: Applying Indian Ethics in the Modern World.

And Ram Manohari Pari, Assistant Professor of English, KG College of Arts and Science, discussed The Indian Moral Compass: Values and Virtues Through Time.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 500 students, faculty, research scholars, and academicians.
The event was held under the guidance of Madan A. Sendhil, Chairman, Rathinam Group of Institutions; Shima Sendhil, Director; Manickam, CEO & Secretary; and with the leadership of Balasubramanian, Principal, and Sabareesh, Research Dean.
