PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) organised its Ninth Edition of Industry–Academia Conclave 2026, recently.

The conclave brought together industry leaders, scientists, faculty members and students to explore emerging technologies, industrial challenges and the future of engineering practice.
The Centre for Industry Interactions & Outreach and the respective Engineering Departments organised the conclave featuring keynote talks, panel discussions, technical lectures, hands-on workshops, project exhibitions and faculty–industry interactions across six engineering departments.
The programme seeks to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry and identify opportunities in research, student projects, internships and workforce development. 45 Eminent Speakers from various industries and organisations across the nation were invited for the conclave.

The keynote talks were given by speakers from companies such as Microsoft, Global Foundries, DRDO, Kaar Technologies, Brakes India, HCLTech , L&T Geostructure, Keller, Nokia R&D, Caterpillar, Intel Corporation, Robert Bosch etc.
The lectures covered emerging topics such as AI innovation, Agentic AI, cyber forensics, Web3, cybersecurity, AI-assisted defence, custom silicon, AI accelerators, RF switches, High-speed circuit design, 5G/6G communications, Edge AI, Smart grids, and Energy systems.
Other topics included low-carbon buildings, sustainable geotechnics, advanced construction materials, friction composites, armoured vehicle systems, defence engineering, nuclear energy, aviation technologies, scalable systems, storage technologies and enterprise digital transformation.
Hands-on workshops and practical sessions were also held in the ECE and CSE departments. Some of them are cyber security, web apps, Embedded Programming with STM32 and Antenna modelling by resource persons from companies like EY GDS, Siemens Digital Industry, CST Studio and Bosch Global Software Technologies.
IAC 2026 also featured Project Exhibitions showcasing student innovations across multiple departments, with cash prizes awarded to recognise outstanding projects. Students demonstrated innovative hardware, software, research prototypes and engineering models that were evaluated by industry experts.
Key exhibitions included Civil Infrastructure Project Expo and Structural Model Evaluation, EEE poster presentations with industrial feedback, Industrial Automation and PLC Project Expo and Embedded systems Projects demonstration by ECE. Cash prizes were awarded to the top 3 winning teams.
