PSG Hospitals observed World Heart Day 2026, under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat” by organising a series of awareness activities for students on Tuesday at the hospital campus.
The activities included a walkathon, poster presentation competition and expert talks by cardiologists.
The walkathon was flagged off by Jayadeepa, Principal, PSG College of Nursing. Students participated in the walkathon carrying placards highlighting the importance of heart health.
During the expert talk session, Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Hospitals; Dr. Murugesan, Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery; and Dr. Rajendran, Head, Department of Preventive Cardiology, led the sessions.
The doctors shared their insights on maintaining a healthy heart, highlighting the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices and early prevention of cardiovascular diseases. They also encouraged students to adopt heart-healthy habits from a young age.

Through these initiatives, PSG Hospitals continues its efforts to promote heart health awareness and inspire the younger generation to adopt healthier lifestyles.
