PSG College of Physiotherapy celebrated its Foundation Day on 30th October 2025, at PSG Hospitals, by honouring its alumni with the Distinguished Alumni Award for their exemplary achievements and remarkable contributions to the field of physiotherapy worldwide.
Mahesh, Principal of the college, welcomed the gathering. The event was presided over by L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, who delivered the presidential address.
In his speech, he emphasised the institution’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and service to society. He also congratulated the awardees and commended their contributions to the profession.
The chief guest, Kavitha Raja, Principal of J.S.S. College of Physiotherapy and Deputy Director of Rehabilitation Services at J.S.S. Hospital, Mysuru, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering with her insights on professionalism and academic leadership.
She congratulated the distinguished alumni awardees for their exceptional accomplishments and dedicated service.
The three distinguished alumni honoured were Ashokan Arumugam, Associate Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, University of Sharjah, UAE; Yogeshwari Raman, Assistant Professor, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai; and Anand Sivayogam, Director and Founder, MoveFree Physio Group and PhysioX, India and Singapore.
In his address, Ashokan expressed his gratitude to the Almighty, his family members, the dignitaries, and the PSG Institution. He reminisced about memorable moments, highlighted the growth of the physiotherapy profession, and emphasised the importance of promoting physical activity.
Yogeshwari shared her heartfelt thanks with the doctors and faculty members of PSG. She spoke about the values of rehabilitation services and motivated students by highlighting the bright future and growing opportunities in the physiotherapy field.
Anand thanked PSG Institution for the recognition. He spoke about the value of knowledge and skills in physiotherapy, emphasised the role of physiotherapists in enhancing patients’ quality of life, and motivated students to pursue continuous learning, develop professional networks, and serve society.
