Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, has developed two integrated circuits, C2S0059 and C2S0060.
This was developed under the Ministry of Electronics and IT’s Chips to Startup (C2S) programme, facilitated through ChipIN and supported by C-DAC Bangalore.
The chips were formally handed over to Saravanakumar, Principal Investigator of the two chips and Talluri Vineel Jessy, Research Associate, by the Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, at the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Mohali, Punjab.
Manickam, Chairman of the institution and Hari Hara Sudhan, Correspondent, stated that this achievement aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
They observed that national initiatives like C2S are crucial for developing indigenous capabilities. The program offers researchers access to training programs, advanced design tools, fabrication facilities, and introduces students to industry-standard semiconductor workflows.
Under the leadership of Subramanian, Secretary and Govindasamy, Principal, the project was supervised by Saravanakumar, Principal Investigator, with design efforts led by Talluri Vineel Jessy.
The institution stated that such projects help develop skilled talent for the sector and contribute to India’s growing deep-tech and semiconductor initiatives.
