Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ajjanur, celebrated Onam on Tuesday.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Principal, Maheswari. 
The programme featured a skit depicting the story of Mahabali and Vamana. The skit beautifully portrayed the values of sacrifice, humility, generosity and equality associated with the legend of King Mahabali.
The celebration continued with melodious Onam songs (Onappattukal) and a special message by Mahabali, highlighting the importance of love, unity, kindness and togetherness. The students also presented various traditional Kerala cultural programmes as part of the festivities.
As part of the celebration, a flower carpet (Pookkalam) competition was conducted for students from Classes V to VIII. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition and created beautiful and colourful floral designs.
