Devarajan, Managing Director of URC Constructions, Erode, has been elected as the Chairman of the CII Tamil Nadu State Council for the year 2026–27. Murugavel, Founder, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Matrimony.com, Chennai, has been elected as the Vice Chairman.
About Devarajan
Devarajan is the past chairman of CII Erode and has around 38 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure development sector. Under his leadership, URC has expanded its presence into real estate, software, sustainable textiles and agriculture.
Today, the 66-year-old URC group provides direct and indirect employment to around 10,000 families. He served as the Vice Chairman of the CII Tamil Nadu State Council for 2025–26. He is also a board member of the Institute for Lean Construction Excellence (ILCE), an initiative focused on improving efficiency in the construction and infrastructure sector.
He is the co-founder and Vice Chairman of Texvalley in Erode and serves as Prathinidhi at the Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust Institute, Erode. In addition, he is one of the founding members and Vice Chairman of the Olirum Erode Foundation, Erode.
