KRAFTON India has announced that the Grand Finale of the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA Series (BGIS) 2026 will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre from 27th to 29th March, with a total prize pool of INR 4 Crore.
Now in its 5th edition, BGIS is India’s biggest mobile esports tournament – and this year, it is coming to Chennai.
The momentum heading into the Grand Finale is unprecedented. BGIS 2026 recorded a peak concurrent viewership of 3,65,000 during the Semi-Finals – the highest ever in the history of BGIS – signalling that this year’s Grand Finale in Chennai is set to be the most-watched edition of the tournament to date.
In a major boost for the home crowd, Tamil Nadu’s iQOO Team Tamilas and WELT Esports have both qualified for the Grand Finale – setting the stage for strong local representation as they take on the country’s top-ranked BGMI teams in a live arena setting.
For Chennai’s gaming community, the Grand Finale is not just a national event coming to the city – it is a chance to cheer their own teams competing for the championship title on home ground.
Chennai was selected as the host city for the BGIS 2026 Grand Finale owing to its strong and rapidly growing gaming community, world-class event infrastructure, and its emergence as a destination for large-scale technology and entertainment events.
The choice reflects KRAFTON India’s commitment to expanding high-quality offline esports experiences across India and bringing marquee tournament moments directly to regional audiences – particularly in the South, where BGMI’s fanbase continues to grow at a significant scale.
The total prize pool of INR 4 Crore includes an additional INR 2 Crore unlocked directly by the BGMI community through the in-game Discovery Island initiative – where player participation across matches progressively contributed to the tournament’s prize fund.
The remaining INR 2 Crore reflects KRAFTON India’s continued investment in the BGMI competitive ecosystem, now in its 5th edition with BGIS 2026.
Tickets for the Grand Finale are available via Swiggy Scenes – for the three-day event from 27th to 29th March.
For fans across the country and the region, the full Grand Finale will be live-streamed on the KRAFTON India Esports YouTube channel, which recently crossed 2 million subscribers.
