To commemorate World Occupational Therapy Day 2024, the Department of Occupational Therapy, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) College Occupational Therapy organized an Awareness Rally at the Race Course, recently.

The rally was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Nirmala, Dean of Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, whose inspiring address emphasized the importance of occupational therapy in empowering individuals with disabilities.

Distinguished guests Dr.Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Managing Trustee of NGP Research &Educational Trust and Dr. Arun N. Palaniswami, Executive Director of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital also graced the occasion, showing their support. Praveen, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address.

Dr. Sujata Missal, Director of the college added prominence to the awareness rally, emphasizing the event’s significance. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sugi Sowmian, Vice-Principal.

The students of the college held a lively street play and rally, using banners and performances to raise awareness about the benefits of occupational therapy. The event highlighted the college’s commitment and fostered community support for improved therapy access.

The event saw participation from around 350 individuals, including students, faculty, and community members, all united to raise awareness about the essential role of occupational therapy in improving quality of life.
