PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (KCW), a premier institution committed to women’s education and empowerment, conducted its Student Induction me on 25 June 2026, Thursday at the PSGRKC Alumni Golden Jubilee Auditorium.
The event marked a vibrant beginning to the academic year, welcoming the new batch of students with motivation, pride, and purpose. The marked the formal commencement of academic life for the newly admitted undergraduate students and was conducted in two sessions’ morning and afternoon to warmly welcome all first year students and their parents.
Nandini, Chairperson, GRG Educational institutions delivered the Welcome Address, extending her heartfelt greetings to the incoming students while highlighting the college’s enduring legacy of academic excellence and holistic development. N. Yesodha Devi, Secretary of KCW, welcomed the students and extended her greetings to the first-year students.
Subsequently, P. B. Harathi, Principal, KCW, presented an overview of the college, highlighting its rich legacy, academic achievements, industry collaborations, research accomplishments, and student-centric initiatives.
The morning session featured R. V. Ramya Bharathi, IPS, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore, as the Chief Guest. Adessing the students, she encouraged them to develop confidence, integrity, resilience, and a strong sense of social responsibility. The Guest of Honour, Daniel Jacob, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, EC Group International, Chennai, shared valuable insights on employability, professional competencies, and the evolving expectations of the corporate world.

A special address was delivered by Sheeba Suresh, Indian Volleyball Player, who inspired the students through her experiences in sports, emphasizing perseverance, teamwork, and dedication. The session also included the recognition of KCW’s excellence by representatives of QS I-GAUGE, namely Ravin Nair, Managing Director, and Krishnaraj, Associate Director, who appreciated the institution’s commitment to quality education and continuous improvement.
The afternoon session was graced by Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, Coimbatore, as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, she encouraged students to cultivate leadership qualities, environmental consciousness, and a spirit of service. . Mamatha Venkatesh, Head, Startup India (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, participated as the Guest of Honour and motivated students to explore innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging opportunities in the startup ecosystem.
Raja Subramanian, Vice President – Technical, Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM), delivered the Special Address, highlighting the importance of technological advancement, industry readiness, and future career prospects.
The me concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by J. Balavijayalakshmi, IQAC Coordinator, KCW, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, management, faculty members, students, and parents for their presence and support. The event ended with the National Anthem, followed by certificate verification and submission procedures for the newly admitted students.
The induction me served as a meaningful platform to familiarize students with the institution’s values, opportunities, and expectations. It successfully inspired the incoming batch to begin their academic journey at KCW with confidence, enthusiasm, and a commitment to personal and professional excellence.
