The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, jointly with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore Chapter, organised an interactive session with Darez Ahamed, Managing Director and CEO of Guidance, Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu, on 16th May 2025 at Coimbatore.
The event was graced by the presence of Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, District Collector, Coimbatore.
The session witnessed active participation from members of various Industrial Associations and leading industrialists from various sectors of Textile, Power, MSME, Energy Engineering, Foundry, and Electric Mobility.
The discussions focused around key industrial challenges and opportunities, including infrastructure development, MSME support, energy, power and environmental concerns, particularly the need for a common testing facility, upskilling of workforce and attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Participants appreciated the proactive initiatives of Guidance Tamil Nadu and the Coimbatore District Administration in fostering industrial development and economic progress in the region. The industry representatives lauded the continuous support provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu in addressing the needs of local businesses and strengthening the overall industrial ecosystem.
Darez Ahamed and Pavankumar Giriyappanavar assured the gathering that the concerns raised will be promptly reviewed and presented to the appropriate Forums for achieving early and fruitful results.
They also emphasised the government’s commitment to enabling a business-friendly environment and strengthening Coimbatore’s position as a major industrial hub.
