The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, on behalf of its members, the innovative entrepreneurs from the trade, industry, and service sectors of this region, welcomes Panna Lal on assuming office as the Divisional Railway Manager of the Salem Division.
The Indian Chamber also proudly acknowledges the recent allocation by Southern Railways in the list of itemised works for the year 2025–2026, which includes:
- Final survey work for the 3rd and 4th railway lines over a stretch of 282 km from Coimbatore to Jolarpettai – ₹64 crores.
- Final survey work for the 3rd and 4th railway lines over a stretch of 99 km from Coimbatore to Shoranur – ₹96 crores.
- Upgradation of LHB coach maintenance facilities at Coimbatore Junction – ₹97 crores.
- Development of coach maintenance facilities at Podanur Junction, Coimbatore – ₹13 crores.
“The Chamber, along with nine other associations in Coimbatore under the Coimbatore NEXT initiative, welcomes these announcements and appreciates the dedicated efforts of Southern Railways, particularly the Salem Division,” stated the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore.
The Chamber further added, “We appeal to the Railways to ensure the timely execution of these long-pending demands, which will significantly enhance railway infrastructure in Coimbatore and benefit thousands of train-travelling passengers.”
