To support agriculture and strengthen our economy, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore (ICCIC), will organise its annual agriculture seminar, “Uzhave Thalai 8.0,” on Friday, 10 July 2026, at Hall D, CODISSIA, as part of Agri Intex 2026.

The announcement was made on Monday at a press conference held at the Chamber Towers.

Rajesh B. Lund, President of the association; Dorairaj, Vice President and Chairman of the seminar; Pradeep, Honorary Secretary and Convenor of Uzhave Thalai 8.0; Mani Sundar, Advisor to the seminar; Saravanan Chandrasekaran, Agri Committee Member; and Annamalai, Vice President of ICCIC, addressed the gathering and shared details about Uzhave Thalai 8.0.

This one-day seminar will be held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will feature sessions on agritourism, vertical farming, automated irrigation and nutrient management, and intercropping options for coconut cultivation.

Valluvan, a farmer from Pollachi who has been globally recognised as a UN FAO Soil Farmer Hero and received an award in the World Soil Contest organised by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), will be the chief guest at the seminar.

The organisers have invited youngsters interested in agriculture to participate in the seminar and gain valuable knowledge.

Uzhave Thalai was launched in 2017 under the presidentship of Vanitha Mohan and has since been held annually alongside Agri Intex.

Since its inception, Uzhave Thalai has evolved into one of the Chamber’s flagship knowledge-sharing initiatives, bringing together progressive farmers, scientists, academicians, agribusiness leaders, and industry experts to exchange practical knowledge, showcase innovative technologies, and share successful farming practices.

The seminar serves as an ideal platform for farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, students, and other stakeholders to gain valuable insights into the latest developments, emerging trends, and best practices in the agriculture sector.

The seminar will feature distinguished speakers from the agriculture, academia, and agribusiness sectors, who will share their expertise on the following topics:

Iraiyazhagan, Farmer & Founder, Tamizh Nilam Tamizh Pannai and recipient of the Tamil Nadu State Agri Tourism Award, will address the topic “Agri Tourism – Experience Sharing and Opportunities.”

Manoharan, MSR Grapes Garden (Appachi Pannai), Cumbum, will speak on “Agri Tourism – Experience Sharing and Opportunities.”

Pandurang Taware, Founder & Managing Director, Agri Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), Baramati, Maharashtra, will deliver a session on “Agri Tourism Potential in India.”

Sarath Sennimalai, Assistant Professor, KCT Business School, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, will serve as the Session Moderator.

Shivakumar, Manager – Cocoa Operations, Tamil Nadu, Mondelez India Foods (Cadbury), will speak on “Mondelez’s Role in Cocoa Development in Tamil Nadu.”

Padmaraj Pattaje, Vice President, CAMPCO, Mangaluru, will address the topic “CAMPCO’s Terms and Operations in Cocoa Intercropping.”

Pachiappan, Farmer, RP Farm, Pollachi, will share his insights on “Cocoa Intercropping in Coconut Cultivation.”

Raja Kumaran, Sales & Marketing Director, Mobitech Wireless Solution, will deliver a session on “From Water Delivery to Water Intelligence: The Future of Agriculture.”

Ajit Ingle, Founder Director, Agrimations, Nashik, will speak on “Precise and Judicious Use of Fertilisers through Automation.”

Venkateshwar Reddy Bojja, Co-Founder, Vertical Green Farms, will address the topic “Vertical Farming Technology and Opportunities.”
