The Department of Biotechnology, Hindusthan College of Arts & Science, organized National Science Day 2025, under the theme “Fostering Public Trust in Science.”
The event aimed to highlight the significance of science in everyday life and inspire young minds to pursue scientific inquiry and innovation.
The event commenced with an inaugural session, presided over by Ponnusamy, Principal & Patron, who delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the role of science in societal progress and the need to combat misinformation with scientific awareness. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering a research-driven environment for students and faculty.
The Guest of Honour, Kadirvelu, DRDO Coordinator & Joint Director, DRDO-BU Center for Life Sciences, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, delivered a special address, focusing on the importance of scientific advancements in defence and healthcare. He urged students to embrace scientific thinking, research, and innovation for national development.
The event featured a quiz competition, panel discussion, science exhibition, and photography contest, engaging students in scientific discourse, innovation, and creativity across various venue
Following the competitions, the prize distribution ceremony was held. The Overall Trophy was won by Dr. GRD College of Arts and Science, while Sri Krishna Arts and Science College secured the Runner-up position.
