Friends Walking Club Welfare Society, Race Course, and Atma Raksha Arakkattalai jointly celebrated the 80th Independence Day by planting tree saplings at the Race Course on Saturday. Dr. Sadagoppan, Retired Superintendent of Coimbatore Government Hospital, hoisted the national flag.
The special guests, Ashokan, Managing Director, Ambal Auto, Coimbatore; Amman K. Arjunan, former MLA, and Kavidasan, Director – HR, Roots Industries, planted tree saplings as part of the celebration. On behalf of Balasubramanian, Managing Director, Ganapathy Silks, the club planted a sapling.
Ponnuswamy of Vijay Engineering, along with his team; Kongu Devaraj of Kongu Devaraj Trust, along with his team; Mathivannan of Early Birds, Race Course, and his group; Mani and his group from Avarampalayam; Mayilvaganan and his team; Gopal and his team; and Ramesh of Thangavel & Co. participated in the tree-planting drive.
Damodarasamy, President, Friends Walking Club Welfare Society, and Muthu Manickam, Secretary, along with their team, organised the event. Members of the club and the trust also graced the occasion.
As part of the event, loading-dose tablets were distributed to 2,000 people. The tablets are intended to provide immediate assistance in suspected cardiac emergencies before medical treatment is initiated.
