The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers’ Association (SIEMA) expressed its gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin for expediting the establishment of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for the pump industry in Coimbatore.

The total cost of the project is ₹14.4 crore, of which the Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned a grant of ₹13 crore.

The association also thanked the Chief Minister for the completion of the Avinashi Road Flyover. It stated that it is a matter of pride for Coimbatore that the flyover has been named after G. D. Naidu, and extended its appreciation to the Chief Minister for the same.

SIEMA further requested the Chief Minister to expedite the construction of the Western Bypass Road Phase 2 and Phase 3, as well as the Eastern Bypass Road, which has already been announced by the government.

The association noted that the metro rail project announced by the Chief Minister is a testament to his commitment to the development of Coimbatore. SIEMA urged that this project also be taken forward without delay.
