The Coimbatore Chapter of FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation), led by its Chairperson Parnika Gupta organized an exclusive flagship event featuring Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi on Thursday.

During this fireside chat, Parnika asked Rekha’s opinion on Coimbatore, the challenges that she thinks Tamil Nadu faces and her opinion on delimitation.

The Chief Minister of Delhi called Coimbatore as a very humble city with lot of potential. She also labelled Tamil Nadu as a very resourceful state. Regarding its challenges, she asked the audience in attendance to share their thoughts. The audience shared what they believe are the challenges in Tamil Nadu that included suggestions related to Connectivity, Cleanliness, Trade etc.

Rekha said that the Indian Administration is divided into 3 parts – Local, State and Central. All aspects related to cleanliness is allotted to Local administration while the city-level connectivity is with the State while railway and airway related remains with the Central.

She then highlighted how her government in Delhi has given importance to cleanliness, improved public transport, especially the adoption of EV in public fleet, and she also touched upon how Delhi has improved its metro rail system by joining hands with central govt.

Speaking about delimitation and the Women’s Reservation Bill, she called it a historic milestone. She noted that the bill will ensure greater representation of women in politics Empower women in decision-making roles. Strengthen democratic inclusivity.
