Dr. NGP Arts and Science College (NGPASC) organised a Student Induction Programme for first-year students pursuing disciplines in Science, Management, Computer Applications, and Commerce.
Saravanan, Principal, delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings to both parents and students. In his speech, he emphasised the numerous academic opportunities available at the college and urged students to not only focus on academics but also to nurture their talents and skills across various fields.
He highlighted the importance of developing sharp analytical thinking and effective communication as key drivers of success.
Dr. Thavamani D. Palaniswami, the Secretary of Dr. NGP Arts and Science College, addressed the gathering and stressed the significance of value-based education.
She emphasised that character plays an integral role in shaping one’s life and career. She encouraged students to cultivate good habits, punctuality, and discipline, cautioning them against indulging in harmful practices like substance abuse during their formative years.
Moreover, she urged students to use their parents’ financial support responsibly and to remain open to learning new technologies and skills.
Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, delivered the presidential address. He emphasised the importance of respecting elders and cultivating strong moral values as essential components of personal and professional success.
Muthusamy, Academic Director of the Dr. NGP Educational Institutions, extended his felicitations to the incoming students.
Other esteemed attendees, including Dr. Arun N. Palaniswami, Trustee of the Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust and Madhura V Palaniswami, Director, Academy of Professional Development, felicitated the occasion.
Bhuvaneswaran, CEO of the educational trust, introduced the heads of departments and field experts to the students.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ramamurthy, Dean Academics, followed by a traditional folk music performance.
