Star Health and Allied Insurance Company, one of India’s leading standalone health insurance companies, recently reinforced its strong presence in Tamil Nadu with the inauguration of its upgraded Dindigul Branch Office.

The new branch was inaugurated by Sachithanantham, Member of Parliament, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. The event was attended by Sugumar, Executive Director, Top Anil Marketing;  Sri Saravanan, Dean, Government Medical College, Dindigul; senior medical professionals, advisors and the company’s leadership team.

Speaking on the occasion, Sachithanantham said, “I appreciate the efforts being taken to expand access to health insurance services in districts like Dindigul. Improving financial protection against medical emergencies is important, particularly for families in semi-urban and rural areas.

Strengthening service infrastructure and accessibility will help increase awareness and reach more households across the region.”

“Tamil Nadu has always been one of our strongest markets. Settling over ₹ 9,100 crore in claims in the state since inception reflects the trust families place in us and our commitment to standing by customers when they need us most,” said. Anand Roy, MD & CEO, Star Health and Allied Insurance.

“Our focus remains on strengthening last-mile access, investing in service infrastructure, and maintaining disciplined underwriting and transparent claims processes. We remain deeply committed to the long-term growth of this market,” he added.

The Dindigul branch has been relocated from an interior location to a prominent main road near the central bus terminus, significantly improving accessibility and visibility.

Importantly, this is the only Star Health branch within a 60-kilometre radius, making it a key service hub for surrounding towns and rural communities. In the Madurai region (including Dindigul), Star Health operates 25 branches, has settled over 2 lakh claims, and paid over ₹950 crores in claims, since inception. This underscores its strong service capability across southern Tamil Nadu.

“The southern districts continue to see strong health insurance adoption. With improved accessibility and expanded infrastructure, the upgraded Dindigul branch will further enhance our ability to serve customers and support our distribution network in the region,” said. Balaji Babu, Business Head, Tamil Nadu, Star Health.
