The Kovai Sahodaya Schools Complex (KSSC) hosted its 10th Annual Athletic Meet – 2026 at Nehru Stadium recently. The three-day event brought together more than 40 schools from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Karur districts.
The meet was inaugurated by the chief guest, Kannan, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City.
The meet featured a wide range of track and field events across different age categories. Competitions were conducted in the Under-12, Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories. A Kiddies Meet for children aged 6 to 10 years was also conducted as part of the three-day sporting celebration.
The event was organised under the leadership of the office-bearers of the Kovai Sahodaya Schools Complex. Girish Eswaran, Principal of PSG Public Schools, led the organisation as President. Mahesh Narayanan, Principal of P. A. International School, served as Vice-President of KSSC. Padmanaban, Secretary, KSSC and Principal of Vivekanandha Academy, coordinated the proceedings along with the other office-bearers.
Uma Maheshwari, Treasurer, KSSC and Principal of SJN School, Kallar, and Eileen Jethro, Joint Secretary, along with the executive board members, supported the conduct of the event. Smitha, Principal of CS Academy, and Deepavathi, Principal of Kids Club of KSSC, also played key roles in organising the meet.
The Individual Championships were won by talented athletes from various participating schools. In the Under-12 category, Rakshan Jai Aswath of Smart Modern School and Mukesh Sairam of Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Vadavalli, shared the Boys’ Championship, while Sanvika of Rathinam International Public School won the Girls’ Championship.
In the Under-14 category, Kavin Pranaav of Chandrakanthi Public School and Aarudra and Saindhavi of Smart Modern School and Vivekanandha Academy Senior Secondary School, respectively, emerged as the individual champions.
Kartheeswaran and Jai Nitharssanaa of Vivekanandha Academy Senior Secondary School won the Under-17 titles, while Mohith Surya of SJN International School and Harini of Stanes School secured the Under-19 championships.
In the Under-12 to Under-17 Boys’ category, PSG Public Schools won the rolling trophy with 129 points. Vivekanandha Academy Senior Secondary School won the Girls’ rolling trophy with 117 points and emerged as the Overall Champions with 230 points.
In the Under-19 Boys’ category, Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School won the rolling trophy. Stanes School CBSE emerged as champions in the Under-19 Girls’ category and also secured the Overall Under-19 Rolling Trophy with 122 points.
The three-day meet concluded with the presentation of trophies and recognition of outstanding athletes and champion schools.
