The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Urban, in association with partner Rotary clubs, will organise the 3D Disco Dhol Dandiya Night on October 10 at the Hindusthan College Grounds, Nava India, Coimbatore, to raise funds for the medical care of preterm babies.
The Chennai Silks is the prime sponsor of the event.
The event, themed “Let’s Dance for a Brighter Tomorrow,” is expected to bring together more than 1,500 people as part of the Navratri celebrations.
Preterm babies often require prolonged intensive care, with treatment costs running into several lakhs of rupees, placing a significant financial burden on many families.
The programme will be held from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature a live band, DJ and dhol group, along with dandiya and disco performances. Food stalls will also be available during the evening, while dinner will be included with the donor pass. Prizes will be awarded to participants.
“Dandiya is about coming together, and this year we are coming together for the tiniest members of our community. Every donor pass will help a preterm baby receive the care it needs. We invite families across Coimbatore to join us and support this cause,” said Rtn. Sandip Shah, President, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Urban.
As part of the event preparations, dandiya workshops were conducted at Priyakunj, R.S. Puram.
Kinjal Joshi of The Kool Krew conducted sessions on October 4 and 5, while Ranjith of 2 Left Feet Dance Studio, in association with Lila Dance Company, conducted another session on October 7.
