CMS College of Science & Commerce recently organised “SWAGAT,” an inauguration programme for first-year undergraduate students and their parents to mark the commencement of the new academic year on the college campus.
Vimalanand, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address. He welcomed the newly admitted students and their parents and encouraged the students to make the best use of the academic and personal development opportunities offered by the institution.
The presidential address was delivered by Gereesan, Chairman of CMS Educational Institutions, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, value-based education, and the holistic development of students.
The inaugural address was delivered by the chief guest, Rajavel, Registrar of Bharathiar University. He inspired the students to pursue academic excellence with integrity, cultivate lifelong learning habits, and actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to become competent professionals and responsible citizens.
The dignitaries present at the event included Chandrakumar, Joint Secretary; Sashidharan, Managing Trustee of CMS Educational and Charitable Trust; Vijayakumar, Treasurer; Annaporani, Principal of CMS Academy of Management and Technology; Mohammed Ali, Principal of CMS Institute of Management Studies; and Balachander, Controller of Examinations (COE), CMS College of Science & Commerce.
Sandhya Menon, CEO of CMS Group of Institutions, felicitated the gathering and extended her best wishes to the students as they embarked on their higher education journey.
Salini, Vice Principal (Academics), presented an orientation on the Academic Regulations System. She explained the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), academic requirements, examination procedures, attendance regulations, and the various academic support services available to students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sujatha, Vice Principal (Administration). This was followed by a performance by Shahul Breaker, a renowned illusionist, mentalist, and entertainer, who captivated the audience with his magical entertainment.
