Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) recently organised a ‘Corporate Hi-Tea’ event as part of its Orientation Program series for the 2025-27 MBA batch.
Valarmathi, Director of the institute, delivered the presidential address, welcoming the chief guest and expressing gratitude to Britannia Industries for their support to the institution in industrial visits, internships, and placement services.
She advised students to brand themselves on various platforms to enhance their career prospects and emphasised the importance of practising industry-specific issues and procedures.
Vignesh, Factory HR Manager, Britannia Industries, Perundurai, was the chief guest of the event. He shared his expertise with students on various topics, including the difference between industrial and institutional culture, the importance of grooming, types of communication channels, and body language.
Through video tutorials and interactive sessions, he demonstrated the significance of the ABC (Appearance, Behaviour, and Communication) formula for success in one’s career. He explored the concept of interviews, including the need for interviews, exit interviews.

Sugunesh, an alumnus of VIMS and HR executive at Britannia Industries, also participated in the event and shared his experience with students. He provided valuable insights into HR activities and procedures in a corporate setting, offering students a glimpse into the real-world application of management concepts.
The event provided students with a unique opportunity to interact with industry experts and gain valuable insights into the corporate world.
It concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students interacted with the chief guest and clarified their doubts on various topics.
