MotoAmrita, the Motorcycle Engineering Team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has become the first Asian team to win a trophy at the MotoStudent International Competition 2025, held at MotorLand Aragón, Spain, from October 15–19.
The team won the prestigious Best Rookie Team Award in the E-Fuel category, presented by Daniel Urquizu Sancho, Managing Director, Moto Engineering Foundation (MEF).
Now in its eighth edition, MotoStudent is one of the world’s leading university-level motorsport competitions, featuring 86 teams from 20 countries. Students design, develop, and race prototype motorcycles powered by Electric and E-Fuel (100% renewable fuel) technologies, combining innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.

MotoAmrita also secured an impressive World Ranking of 14th in the MS1 (Engineering Design) phase, which evaluated innovation, design, and project execution.
The team was guided by Sivanesan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
The students who represented Amrita at the final event in Spain were Sriharish, Captain, Raghav Palanikumar, Technical Lead, Arun Vijai, Ashwanth, Mithun, Mahalakshmi, Siddharth Satish Kumar, Alumni Team Member, and Abdul Basim, Professional Rider.
