Four B.Tech programmes at the Coimbatore campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have been reaccredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) has been reaccredited for six years. The programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering have each been reaccredited for three years.

The NBA is one of the two principal bodies responsible for the accreditation of higher education institutions in India and is a full member of the Washington Accord. It accredits technical programmes through an outcome-based evaluation that examines curriculum, faculty and research, infrastructure and laboratory facilities, and graduate outcomes.

“This reaccreditation affirms that our programmes are built on strong fundamentals and a culture of continuous improvement,” said Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. “We see it not as a destination, but as encouragement to keep raising the bar.”

The School of Engineering at the Coimbatore campus was established in 1994. It offers B.Tech, integrated M.Sc, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programmes across several disciplines of engineering.
