A screening of the acclaimed German film ‘Sophie Scholl – The Final Days’ is scheduled to take place at Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore on August 29.
The film tells the story of Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans, young members of the anti-Nazi resistance movement who were arrested in 1943 after distributing leaflets at Munich University. The film portrays their interrogation by the Gestapo, trial before the Nazi People’s Court and eventual execution.
The screening, which will be presented in German with English subtitles, is open to audiences aged 12 and above.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Mini Auditorium, Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore, Classroom 3. Admission is free, with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
