CreditAccess Grameen, an RBI-registered NBFC-MFI operating under the name Grameen Koota, continues to support small entrepreneurs in growing their businesses and building a better future through providing business loans.

In Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Ramani’s journey shows how microfinance can help individuals build better opportunities. After moving to the city, she started working in the garment industry to learn new skills while pursuing her dream of starting her own business.

About four years ago, with a loan from CreditAccess Grameen, Ramani started a small tailoring unit with a few sewing machines. Over time, through hard work and gradual growth, the business became stable and began receiving regular orders.

Today, she manages the business alongside her husband and continues to focus on strengthening its operations and future growth.

Speaking about her journey, Ramani said, “Building this unit took time and patience. Every small step mattered. Today, being able to run my own business and support others gives me confidence and satisfaction.”

Going forward, Ramani plans to improve her production process, maintain consistent quality, and gradually expand her business. Her journey reflects the growing confidence of small entrepreneurs in manufacturing centres like Tiruppur, where timely access to credit is helping people build successful businesses and create employment opportunities in their communities.

Tamil Nadu continues to be one of the leading microfinance markets in India, ranking third with a Gross Loan Portfolio of Rs. 38,774 crores. The state also has the highest average loan outstanding per account at Rs. 35,887 and supports over 68 lakh borrowers.

This strong ecosystem is enabling thousands of entrepreneurs like Ramani to grow their businesses, generate local employment, and contribute to sustained economic development at the grassroots level.
