The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) at Hindusthan Institute of Technology recently inaugurated its Students’ Association for the academic year 2026–27.
Karthik and Ashlin Divinesha, Associate Consultants – Data Analysts at Applexus Technologies, Chennai, were the chief guests.
Natarajan, Principal of the institute, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, practical skill development, industry certifications and internships in preparing students for successful careers.
Ramasamy, Head of the Department, delivered the felicitation address. He congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and expressed confidence that they would lead the association with dedication, responsibility and teamwork, contributing to the department’s growth and reputation.
Addressing the students, the chief guests spoke about the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing and data analytics, emphasising the increasing demand for skilled professionals in these fields. They encouraged students to focus on continuous learning, practical skill development, industry certifications, internships, teamwork and innovation to build successful careers in the IT industry.
They also urged students to actively participate in technical events, hackathons, research activities and industry-oriented projects to enhance their employability and professional competencies.
During the programme, the newly elected office-bearers were formally introduced and felicitated. They pledged to uphold the values of leadership, discipline, teamwork, innovation and professional excellence while organising academic, technical and co-curricular activities throughout the academic year.
The office-bearers are Aravindhan (President), Akshay (Vice-President), Thirishamani (Secretary), Abishek (Joint Secretary) and Roshini (Executive Director).
The association also unveiled its vision of promoting innovation, technical excellence, leadership and collaborative learning through workshops, seminars, coding competitions, industrial interactions, project expos, research activities and community outreach programmes aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Faculty members congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and assured them of their continued guidance and support in organising activities that contribute to the holistic development of students.
